Local Nature Reserve
Chinley has a Local Nature Reserve. After much hard work by the Friends of Chinley Park, the Parish Council, at the end of March 2008, received the approval of High Peak Borough Council's Executive for delegation of power to the Parish Council to declare Stubbins Park, Stubbins Lane, Chinley as a Local Nature Reserve. The declaration was duly made and the launch took place on Saturday 26th July 2008. It is worth paying a visit at any time of year to experience the wild life. Particularly worth looking out for are the daffodils in Spring, the wild flower meadow in Summer, tree colours in Autumn and animal tracks in the winter snow.
